Fifthshire Homes opens energy efficient ‘EnviroHome’

Media Release – For Immediate Release Fifthshire Homes celebrated for energy efficient ‘EnviroHome’ Ontario’s Chief Energy Conservation Officer tours latest Ontario community and presents Certificate of Recognition (Georgina, Ontario, June 19, 2008) This afternoon, Peter Love, Ontario's Chief Energy Conservation Officer helped Fifthshire Homes Vice President, Joe Vella and other representatives celebrate energy efficient home building in Georgina. Julia Munro, MPP York-North, Richard Lind, Immediate Past National President of the CHBA and Chair of the R-2000 National Builders Committee, and Corey McBurney, Managing Director of EnerQuality were also on hand to tour the Fifthshire’s Eastbourne Estates EnviroHomes on Lake Simcoe. Mr. Love presented a Certificate of Recognition to Fifthshire for their leadership in promoting energy conservation in home building. EnviroHomes feature leading design elements including energy efficient products and materials as well as advanced construction techniques resulting in a home that is highly energy efficient. Every EnviroHome is certified to meet the high standards of the R-2000 program. “Once again Fifthshire has demonstrated their leadership and commitment to energy efficiency with their EnviroHome project,” said Peter Love, Chief Energy Conservation Officer of Ontario. “I commend them for helping to bring quality, healthy homes to the Georgina area.” Each year the EnviroHome designation is given to a select number of new home projects across Canada. To qualify, each home must be certified to the R-2000 Standard and include additional air quality and environmental features beyond what the R-2000 Program requires.
