CARLETON PLACE HIGH SCHOOL ADVANCES TO ONTARIO ENVIROTHON CHAMPIONSHIPS Environmental Education: 2008 Ontario Envirothon Regional Results for Lanark region. On Tuesday April 29, high school students in the Lanark region tested their environmental smarts for the opportunity to compete at the Ontario Envirothon Championships. Carleton Place High School won the Lanark Regional Envirothon Competition and will advance to the Ontario Envirothon Championships to be held May 7 to 10 at Tim Horton Onondaga Farms in St. George, ON. Who: Carleton Place High School, Carleton Place, ON The team will go on to compete against teams from 21 regions across Ontario. Where: Tim Horton Onondaga Farms in St. George, ON When: May 7-10, 2008 What: • Ontario Envirothon: The team sport for environmental smarts. • Envirothon reaches over 5,000 Ontario students each year. • Envirothon gets students outdoors to experience nature first hand and hands on. • High school students from 22 regions across Ontario compete for top prize in a provincial environmental competition. • Top team from the Ontario Envirothon Championships will go on to represent Ontario at the Canon Envirothon, a North American competition to be held in Arizona this July. The results for all regions will be posted at www.ontarioenvirothon.on.ca as they become available.
