Climate Change Awareness Act : Bill 6
Ottawa-Orléans MPP Phil McNeely will convene a media conference regarding Bill 6, the Climate Change Awareness Act.
Date: Wednesday , April 21, 2010
Time: 3:00 p.m.
Location: Queen’s Park Media Studio – Ontario Legislature – Main Floor West
Background
• A key element of the Bill is to make April 21st each year, Climate Change Awareness Day
• The Bill emphasizes increasing awareness about climate change for school children
• The Bill was introduced to the Legislature and has been referred to Committee
• The Bill also seeks to have the Ministry of Environment produce an annual report to be shared with students in Grades 5-12 across Ontario, that lists key indicators of climate change such as polar bear populations and Arctic ice levels.
