Media Advisory North-western Ontario Open Houses related to Two Feathers Forest Products Two Feathers Forest Products, LP (TFFP) will convene a series of six Public Open Houses starting on May 25, 2009. These sessions are an opportunity to review information on this proposed value-added forest products initiative. Stantec Consulting Ltd (Stantec), hired by TFFP, is conducting an environmental assessment, and will present information for review and comment. Quill Memorial Community Centre Pikangikum First Nation, ON Tuesday, May 26, 2009 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm Wabshki-Penasi School Gym Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation, ON Wednesday, May 27, 2009 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Masonic Hall 45 Van Horne Avenue Dryden, ON Tuesday, June 2, 2009 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Campbell Curling Rink 24 Cedar Street Balmertown, ON Wednesday, June 3, 2009 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Vermilion Bay Lions Hall 76 Spruce Avenue Vermilion Bay, ON Thursday, June 4, 2009 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm The TFFP partnership is jointly owned by Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation, Eagle Lake First Nation, Pikangikum First Nation and Wood Tech Group Canada. The proposed wood processing facilities are to be located in the Municipality of Red Lake and at the Eagle Lake First Nation (west of Dryden). The projects head office is to be located at the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation (east of Dryden). The Red Lake site will house log sorting, milling, and chipping facilities, as well as a 9.9MW biomass cogeneration facility to generate electricity for sale into the Ontario power grid. Processed lumber will be shipped to the Eagle Lake facility, which will house a pellet plant, planer lines, and assembly factories for construction of pre-fabricated buildings to the Asian and European markets.
