Jan 8th, 2013 4:11 AM

Press Release For Immediate Distribution January 8, 2013 Cindy Coutts, President, (905) 874-6835 Toronto, ON - Sims Recycling Solutions, Canada, the global leader in electronics reuse and recycling has announced the start up of their newest electronics recycling facility in Quebec, Canada. Sims has expanded their current recycling service offerings of waste electronic and electrical equipment (WEEE) for consumers, businesses, governments and provincial programs throughout Canada. The new 55,000 sq. ft. facility is located in Laval, Quebec, in the greater Montreal area. It joins the 2 sites operating in Ontario, and 1 in British Columbia to provide truly national Canadian service. “Quebec, home to 24 percent of the Canadian population, is the latest province to implement WEEE recycling regulations. If Quebec’s volumes reflect those of other provinces driven by similar regulations, we can expect at least 25,000 metric tonnes of WEEE to be recycled in Quebec over the next year” says Cindy Coutts, President of Sims Recycling Solutions, Canada. “Sims Recycling Solutions is committed to developing the most advanced recycling technology and in providing more green jobs in Canada and the world.” This new facility has been established to uniquely serve the Quebec market given the establishment of the Quebec WEEE stewardship regulations, Direction des matières résiduelles et des lieux contaminés - Service des matière résiduelles/ Regulation Respecting the Recovery and Reclamation of Products by Enterprises, which took effect July 14, 2012. Sims Recycling Solutions’ leadership in the environmentally sound recycling of end-of-life electronics provides cost effective recycling solutions that focus on industry leading recycling standards. The Canadian operations are currently ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, RCMP and Controlled Goods Approved, RQP (2010) and Responsible Recycling (R2) Practices certified.
