Media Advisory Attn: Community, Energy, Environment Reporters and Editors Aboriginal issues on agenda for Ontario Sustainable Energy Association’s Community Power Conference 2009 The Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) will host its first annual Community Power Conference (CP2009) this November 15-16. CPC2009 incorporates themes and issues of particular interest to the Aboriginal community, such as: renewable energy opportunities (Aboriginal Loan Guarantee Program, Aboriginal Energy Partnership Program), capacity building and analysis, land use and consultation, funding and financing and business development. A sponsorship from the Ontario Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs is allowing OSEA to offer discounted registration to Aboriginal delegates on a first come first serve basis. The event will celebrate the Micro FIT and Feed-in Tariff programs that will be instrumental to the success of bringing Community Power projects to rural Ontario, where many of the natural resources are in surplus. This will bring economic growth to those communities, create new jobs and decrease local smog and GHG. It will also continue to make the province a national leader in the generation of green energy. Come and meet all the key industry Aboriginal leaders, government officials and local community groups that are creating sustainable Community Power projects across the province and abroad. This event will bring together all the players working to meet Ontario's ambitious objectives in the newly minted 2009 Green Energy and Green Economy Act. An application for media accreditation is available at the Registration page of the CPC2009 website at: www.cpconference.ca.
