Ontario Sustainable Energy Association to call on Ontario government to implement ‘Green Energy Act’

Media Advisory: Attention News/Environment/Energy/Assignment Editors Environmental group to call on Ontario government to implement ‘Green Energy Act’ New legislation considered key to maximizing conservation and renewable energy production and establishing electricity self sufficiency (Toronto, Ontario) Members of the media are invited to attend a media conference organized by the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association at Queens Park on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 9:00 am. The panel of speakers will identify the need for a ‘Green Energy Act’ and explain how it can help achieve the government of Ontario’s goal of becoming a leader in renewable energy, create jobs for Ontarians and reduce pollution and green house gas emissions. They will also highlight the positive effects a ‘Green Energy Act’ will have for rural and First Nations communities and draw attention to the German experience with similar legislation.
