Interview Opportunities - Community Power experts to speak at OSEA conference The Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) is hosting its first annual Community Power Conference November 15-16. Community Power and renewable energy experts from around the world will be speaking about current issues and trends in the sector, how it’s growing and how it can be developed. The following speakers will be available for interviews: Dr. Josef Pesch Dr. Pesch co-founded the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) in the early 80’s, set up its local office in the state of Baden-Württemberg and served as Chairman of the state organization of BWE and on the national board of BWE. He is now the managing director of fesa, which has developed wind, solar, and bio projects. All fesa projects are citizens’ participation projects. Stefan Gsänger Mr. Gsänger has been Secretary General of the World Wind Energy Association since 2003, and has managed the organization since its foundation in 2001. Under his direction, WWEA has become the voice of the wind sector worldwide, with 430 member organizations in 93 countries to date, amongst them the major national and regional wind energy associations. Dr. Dean Jacobs Dr. Jacobs is the Consultation Manager for the Walpole Island First Nation (WIFFN). He is a former Chief of the WIFN and Director of the Walpole Island Heritage Centre. He has served six elected terms as a Councillor on the WIFN Council of Three Fires and was a charter member of the Ontario Round Table on Environment and Economy. Paul Gipe Mr. Gipe is an author, advocate, and renewable energy industry analyst. He has written extensively about renewable energy for both the popular and trade press and served as the acting executive director of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association for which he created, managed, and implemented a provincial campaign for advanced renewable tariffs.
