WHAT:
Ontario's Chief Energy Conservation Officer will present a Certificate of Recognition for Energy Conservation to the Mayor and Council of Penetanguishene - recognizing the leadership associated with undertaking the largest municipal LED streetlight installation program in Canada.
The installation of 278 LED (Light Emitting Diode) streetlights is the largest LED energy efficient streetlight retrofit in Canada. Each of the RuudLed lights consumes 62% less electricity than the old-style mercury vapour streetlights they replaced.
Mr. Boucher and the Ruud (Rude) Canada representatives will be available to explain additional benefits such as reduced maintenance costs of LED streetlight technology.
