Preserving Pelee Island

Ontario Nature organizes conservation efforts at Stone Road Alvar Nature Reserve

Join us at the Stone Road Alvar Nature Reserve as we explore the rare habitats and species of Pelee Island.  Participants will help Ontario Nature conservation staff and local experts inventory the reserve’s invertebrate inhabitants, and learn how to identify butterfly, dragonfly and other insect species native to the island.  Participants will also enjoy a visit to the Pelee Island Heritage Centre and a tour of the Pelee Island Winery.  Information collected during this excursion will inform future management plans for the reserve. Cost is $340.

Pre-registration for this event is required. To register, please contact Lisa Richardson, Volunteer for Nature Coordinator at lisar@ontarionature.org or 416-444-8419 ext.222.
