Ontario Nature hosts community greening event at Don Valley Brick Works

Media Advisory Attention: Community Calendar, Environment, Event Listing and News Editors Budding Beauties at the Brick Works Ontario Nature hosts community greening event Toronto, Ontario - Join Ontario Nature in adding a touch of green to the historic Don Valley Brick Works, Canada's first large-scale environmental community centre. Hosted by Evergreen and Ontario Nature's Volunteer for Nature Program, we will be planting native plants, shrubs and flowers in gardens located around the Brick Works in preparation for its grand opening in September. Ontario Nature's Volunteer for Nature program has connected thousands of Ontarians to the natural world through conservation activities. Since 1996, volunteers have helped build boardwalks, survey species, plant trees, and contribute in many other ways to the preservation and rehabilitation of our wild species and spaces. No formal training or experience is required. Ontario Nature and Evergreen staff will supply all necessary tools, work gloves, water, other beverages and snacks on the day of the event. WHAT: Planting native flowers and shrubs and greening the Don Valley Brick Works with expert conservation staff. WHEN: June 26, 10:00am. WHERE: Evergreen Brick Works, 550 Bayview Avenue north of Bloor St. East and south of Pottery Road. Our meeting location will be at the front gates, located at the bottom of the Brick Works driveway near the TTC stop.
