Grass Roots First Nation Partnership Conference & Tradeshow Continues

Neeganii-Iishiwan (Nee-GAW-nee ISH-Shawn) means ‘to lead to the Gathering place’, and a partnership of five regional First Nation organizations hosted the inaugural gathering in February of 2024 to resounding success. Last year's event drew nearly 300 total registrations, including sponsored guests, ticketed guests, speakers and exhibitors. 

Registration is underway for Neeeganii Iishawin 2025, planned for February 11th-13th at the Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre. Confirmed speakers include Tabatha Bull of the Canada Council for Indigenous Business; Valerie Gideon of FEDNOR, Ginger Gibson of Firelight, Sean St. John of National Bank of Canada, and Ernie Daniels of First Nations Finance Authority. 

Windigo Community Development Corporation, Shibogama First Nations Council, Matawa First Nations, Keewaytinook Okimakanak,ThawiKayhiGan Group and Independent First Nations Alliance collectively represent over 30 communities across Northwestern Ontario, including in-community and urban populations. All partners extend a warm invitation to First Nation & Ally communities, entrepreneurs, economic development leaders, funders and partners to bring this second annual event to a larger scale with increased investment. Neeeganii Iishhawnin 2025 will continue to focus on Indigenous capacity-building insights and developing opportunities in economic development in Northwestern Ontario and the wider province. 

J.P Gladu, a respected national Indigenous business leader whose experience has seen him facilitate countless conversations and relationships around the world, will be reprising his role as event emcee throughout the Gathering.
