WHAT: GREENSTONE, ON - The Municipality of Greenstone and the Greenstone Labour Market Working Group are partnering to produce the Grow Greenstone Expo on March 25th and 26th, 2013.
The Expo’s theme is “Connectivity, Accessibility, Power and People” (CAPP). The event is designed to spotlight development and employment opportunities in Greenstone. It provides a cost-effective opportunity for participants to interact with current and prospective businesses from one of the most important mining regions.
The event is open to the public and there is no cost. We only ask that you present your business card at the door.
The Municipality of Greenstone and their team of experts will unveil Greenstone’s Growth Plan at an after-hours gala reception for exhibitors and guests that will take place on March 25th following the first day of the expo.

The Municipality of Greenstone (Canada 2011 Census population 4,724) is located along Trans-Canada Highway 11 in Northwestern Ontario, 250km northeast of the City of Thunder Bay. Greenstone is located in the District of Thunder Bay and has an area of 3,172 sq. km. making it one of the largest municipalities in Canada.
The Ring of Fire is the area in the James Bay Lowlands in Northern Ontario, currently the site of major mining exploration projects (over 30,000 Claims have been staked). It has the potential to be the most significant mineral development in Ontario in over a century. It is centered on McFaulds Lake, 286 km from Greenstone on First Nation traditional lands.
Due to the mineral activity in Ontario’s Northwest the demand for workers will be significant with a projected cumulative hiring requirements over the next 10 years totaling approximately 7,000 workers.
