Media Release GreenSaver extends federal home renovation tax credit (Monday, January 25, Toronto ON) “It’s never too late to save energy”, Greg Labbe, Director of GreenSaver’s Responsible Renovations division, declared. “Our Responsible Renovation division will be waiving the GST on labour and materials for energy efficient retrofits booked or completed by February 28, 2010. We’re giving procrastinators a month’s grace!” GreenSaver’s Responsible Renovations division helps homeowners who missed the deadline for the federal government’s home renovation tax credit. In doing so, GreenSaver has effectively extended the home energy renovation tax credit for one more month. This means that anyone in GreenSaver’s service area has four more weeks to make their homes more energy efficient. Key benefits of GreenSaver’s Responsible Renovations program: • Save 5% immediately with the tax rebate. You won’t have to wait for a tax return or rebate cheque! • Get your renovations done before the Harmonized Sales Tax takes effect, increasing both the cost of upgrading and your utility bills. • If you live in Toronto, GreenSaver will help you access the City of Toronto’s HEAT incentive. You could qualify for up to $1000 in rebates if you upgrade your insulation! • GreenSaver will provide renovation experts who understand energy efficiency at a competitive price.
