FOE and OPG partner to “Let it Bee”

A call to action to protect wild bees When: May 5, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. Where: 700 University Avenue, Toronto Mini Auditorium (please check in with Security desk at lobby) Who: Friends of the Earth Canada (FOE) and Ontario Power Generation (OPG) What: FOE and OPG will announce the “LET IT BEE” campaign to protect and save wild, native bees. Speakers will include: · Beatrice Olivastri, CEO, Friends of the Earth Canada · Jeff Lyash, President and CEO, Ontario Power Generation · Dr. Laurence Packer, Professor of Biology, York University · J. Scott MacIvor, Post Doctoral Researcher, York University and University of Toronto Scarborough campus Dr. Laurence Packer will provide information on the threats facing Canada’s bee population in urban spaces. J. Scott MacIvor will outline the actions everyone can take to save native bees. Dr. Packer and Mr. MacIvor will also be available to answer media questions.
