On Tuesday, May 9th, 2017, Forests Ontario, Corby Spirit & Wine Ltd., Hiram Walker & Sons Limited, and the City of Windsor will host a special tree planting event in Thompson Park, Windsor. Volunteers from Corby’s financial team will plant native trees and shrubs on the site.

Thompson Park, located within a dense urban area of Windsor, Ontario, is in need of shade for recreation and habitat for local wildlife. This event is an opportunity to celebrate Windsor’s urban forest and greenspaces and the important contributions they make to health, well-being, and vibrancy in our communities. The trees planted on May 9th will contribute to cleaner air and water, sequester carbon and increase Windsor’s unique, Carolinian canopy cover which was hard hit by Emerald Ash Borer.

We invite members of the media to attend this private event.
