ONTARIO: Death of Zimmer Zoo Bill not the end for roadside zoo animals
Interview Opportunity - Melissa Tkachyk, World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) Programs Officer
Toronto, June 5, 2007--As the Ontario legislature adjourns today, the Zimmer Zoo Bill (Bill 154) is dead.
Melissa Tkachyk (Ta-kaw-chik), WSPA Programs Officer, is disappointed that the government didn't act on this issue which is clearly in the public interest.
Ms Tkachyk also says there are still options for ensuring the well-being and safety of roadside zoo animals, their handlers, neighbours and visitors.
