Media Advisory Forests Ontario is a leading charity dedicated to greening the communities in which we live, work, and play. With a provincewide network of planting professionals and partners, Forests Ontario will have planted more than 36 million trees through its 50 Million Tree Program, including planned projects in 2022, creating over 17,000 hectares of new forest. Rideau Valley Conservation Authority (RVCA) is one of Ontario's 36 Conservation Authorities, and a longtime tree planting partner of Forests Ontario. The RVCA plants approximately 250,000 trees across its Eastern Ontario watershed every year, working with private landowners, municipalities, and community groups to maintain a resilient and healthy watershed through reforestation and afforestation. The Community Tree Plant Events are taking place at the RVCA's workshop property in Kars, ON, near the popular Baxter Conservation Area. WHAT: Forests Ontario and Rideau Valley Conservation Authority tree planting activity for all ages. Find out more and register to take part at forestsontario.ca.
