Environmental Commissioner of Ontario to release special report on province’s waste strategy

Dianne Saxe, Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, will release a special report that reviews the provincial government’s ambitious new
Waste-Free Ontario Act, 2016.
The report examines key questions, including:
•Why is waste a problem in Ontario?
•What is Ontario’s vision for a waste-free future?
•What are the key lessons from Ontario’s first 40 years of waste diversion?
•What’s different about the new plan, and what will the
Waste-Free Ontario Act,
2016 change?
•What are the key challenges in implementing the new law?
When: Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Media Studio, Legislative Building Room 149, Queen's Park, Toronto, ON
The Report and Media Release will be online at
eco.on.ca coincident with the media conference start.
