Environmental Commissioner of Ontario to release 2014/15 Annual Report

WHERE: Queen’s Park Media Studio, Legislative Building, Queen's Park, Toronto, Ontario
Acting Commissioner Ellen Schwartzel will release this year’s Annual Report. The report, entitled
Small Things Matter, will include substantive reviews of ministry decisions, ministry responses to applications for review and investigation, and other environmental issues. Some topics covered include:
- The Environmental Registry: Ripe for an Overhaul
- Protecting and Restoring the Great Lakes
- Fatal Attraction: When Birds Hit Buildings
- Taking Ontario’s Water: Issues of Transparency and Cost
- Restoring and Expanding Ontario’s Protected Areas
- Species at Risk: Going Through the Motions
The report will be available online at
http://www.eco.on.ca coincident with the media conference.
The conference will also be available via webcast starting at 10 a.m. at
http://www.eco.on.ca. Please note the Commissioner will not be taking questions via webcast, but will be available for individual interviews after the news conference.
