Danny Williams to receive award for green energy leadership

Toronto, ON, June 6, 2011 - Danny Williams will be honoured by Corporate Knights, the Canadian magazine for clean capitalism, as a recipient of the Corporate Knights Award of Distinction for his moral courage and unrelenting drive to unleash Canada's energy-super-power potential in a fair and green way. The award will be presented at a Gala dinner in Toronto Tuesday evening. A program of presentations will begin at 7 pm and continue to approximately 9 pm including the announcement of Canada's 2011 top corporate citizen. It will include remarks by Rick Mercer, and testimonials by John Tory and two current Premiers, as well as a speech by Danny Williams. The Corporate Knights Award of Distinction is awarded to leaders who have had a catalytic impact advancing sustainable development. Past recipients include Maurice Strong, Frank Frantisak, and Jim MacNeill.
