Mr. Winter is available for comment on the Provincial initiative to remove municipal bans and developer covenants against clotheslines. He is able to offer insights into the campaign for change which was shared among the public, local leaders and the Ontario Chief Energy Conservation Officer.
Mr. Winter will also provide comment on specific areas, including:
• The value of clotheslines as a conservation tool (between 30 and 140 kWh per month
depending on usage).
• The effectiveness of clotheslines and indoor drying racks.
• His family's 300 kWh/month electricity load (1/3 the provincial average).
• The growing province-wide commitment to conservation.
• Additional steps the Government should take to help people become better conservers.
