Thunder Bay hosts 1st annual Darryl “Penasi” Fox Memorial Golf Tournament


Ontario Minster of Energy and Infrastructure, former North of 60 actress and Churchill MP and Ontario Minister of Northern Development and Mines, to attend weekend tourney

(Thunder Bay, Ontario) Come join family, friends and politicians from the federal and the provincial levels at the Whitewater Golf Club on Saturday, July 18th at 11:00 am as they raise funds for cancer research.

The inaugural Darryl “Penasi” Fox Memorial Golf Classic is being held in honour of Darryl Fox, an engineering student and Ojibway-Cree Anishnaabe from Bearskin Lake First Nation who died of cancer in 2002 at the age of 24. Money raised through the tournament will go to cancer research and to bursary scholarships for First Nation students enrolled in an engineering program.

A dinner and awards ceremony will be held on Saturday evening and prizes will be given to anyone who scores a hole in one.
