ExpoCycle rolls into Montreal ExpoCycle Update Sunday September 7th, 2008 After an exciting Demo Day on the World Cup race course at Ski Bromont on Saturday September 6th, ExpoCycle moves indoors. The biggest names in the Canadian cycling industry have gathered at the Bicycle Trade Association of Canada’s annual trade show at Place Bonaventure to show off their hottest products. A show highlight will be demonstrations of the Shimano Dura-Ace’s DA-7950 shifter system. This gear-changing unit has no cables and is fully wireless. The unit on display is one of 20 in the world and is making its North American debut at ExpoCycle. The DA-7950 will be on display in the Dura-Ace exhibit (Booth 920). Also making appearances at ExpoCycle will be two of Canada’s top cyclists – Marie-Helene Premont and Raphael Gagne. Premont, who hails from Chateau Richer, is an Olympic cyclist and the current World Cup champion. Quebec City native Gagne raced with the World Championship Team and has won two of the series three races he entered this year. Premont and Gagne will be at ExpoCycle today (Sunday, 7th) from 4 pm to 6 pm, signing autographs at the Rocky Mountain Ranch display (Booth 801). ‘We knew this year’s show would be terrific,’ said Janet O’Connell of the Bicycle Trade Association of Canada, ‘and we were right. Pre-registration is at 3000, which is up from last year’s numbers. The exhibitors and delegates are the industry leaders from Canada and the Eastern USA. We’re really pleased.” ExpoCycle runs from September 7 to 9 at Place Bonaventure in Montreal. Details can be found at www.expocycle.ca.
